When will students receive their laptops?
7th & 8th graders will receive during 1st Block on the first day of school, Tuesday, August 23rd. 6th graders will receive theirs during 1st Block on Thursday, August 25th.

When can students take their computers home?
Students MUST turn in the Laptop Agreement first before they can take their laptops home. A second form -- the Acceptable Use of Technology -- is also required, but this form is part of the online Student Registration Verification. For information on these required forms, click HERE.
If possible, turn in the Laptop Agreement at our Open House on Thursday, August 18, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Students can also give them to their 1st Block teachers on the 1st day of school.

Not necessarily. Student work is online. However, if you have a computer at home, your student can leave his/her laptop in our Media Center at the end of the day. There will be a charge cart in the Media Center so that laptops can charge over night.

How does my child access Blackboard?
Students log in to Blackboard from this url: https://learn.k12albemarle.org
Or they can click on the Blackboard link provided on the Student page of the Burley website or the ACPS website.
On the login page, the student will enter the same user name and password they use to login to his/her computer.
Once they are logged in, they will see a list of each of their classes. Just click on the name of the class to enter it.

Student laptops are protected by Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection. This tool protects against viruses and is updated regularly and automatically.
